Canon: OC
Canon point: A couple weeks after his husband passes away (it’s nonviolent)
Age:
Mental & Physical: 24
Chronological: He lost count a very long time ago - it doesn't matter when immortal
Canon history:
Earth it is just as our Earth is, though there are some people out there with extraordinary abilities, a little bit like X-Men, but not as common. Planar travel also exists, but is incredibly rare unless an extra-planar creature - Earth is essentially a sort of hub for worlds in this universe. It is slightly in the future than our Earth.
Heaven is a plane that is very bright, golden, clouds, beautiful, etc. Heaven generally works on a caste system - those up high stay up high, those down low stay down low, and humans that go to heaven tend to be at the bottom - not that the bottom is a bad place to be, by any means. The higher the rank an angel is, the less human they look and the more terrifying they are. The only way to move up in rank is to join the military, while the ways to move down in rank are numerous. Angels do not have families and tend to be trained according to the caste they are in as well as their particular talents - there tend to be cohorts among those within the same caste and job. Heaven is perpetually training troops and amassing a large army in preparation for “the attack” - though nobody would be able to say who, exactly, will be attacking. Heaven does its best to indoctrinate those within it and has a very black and white view of things.
Hell is a plane that Aaron does not know much about - all he knows is that there’s an awful lot of sin and apparently some pretty great parties. In actuality, there is a princedom that rules Hell, with each prince having dominion over lands in Hell. The princes were chosen by Satan himself. With time they are free to shape their section of Hell as they see fit. Each kingdom has its own small army, which all come together to create the greater forces of Hell (should an attack ever be put forth by them) - they generally squabble between themselves too much to organize anything serious.
In the very early days it is told that two brothers came into existence, and the two often would compete with each other and create elaborate things and creatures, only for the other to destroy it. The creations grew to be more and more extravagant, until one day the competition grew less than friendly and the destruction of the other’s creation became more malicious than it was light-hearted. The two of them struck an accord: they would create a universe and each contribute to it. Rather than destroy what the other created, they would let it play out, and thus the heavenly and hellish planes were created and the two sides set to war. With planes and generals created in the image of each brother, they were equally matched. After quite a while they agreed it was going nowhere, and they came together one final time to create the earthly plane, which each agreed they would not interfere with the happenings on - the goal would be to collect as many beings from the earthly plane, and the brother with the most souls at the end of time would be the winner.
It is assumed that God and Satan are the brothers of eld, but neither will confirm nor deny it, so there is no telling if that is actually the case. They are treated as the ultimate authority over each plane, though both are quite withdrawn from the actual going-ons of things.
History:
Aaron came into existence (as angels aren’t really born, per se), unclear as to where he was or where he had come from - memories do not carry from a mundane life into what comes after. Heaven has no patience for those who cannot catch on quickly, so Aaron quite quickly found a friend in another young angel, who came to call himself Abel, who had been around for a little longer to help him learn the ropes. The two became quickly inseparable and both were absolutely smitten with the idea of becoming avenging angels in the heavenly army, so they joined.
They spent centuries training with weapons, divine magic, etc, to both become very talented. The time came to pick their specializations and the two decided here to take different paths - Abel focused more on scouting other planes, while Aaron preferred the eventual glory that would come with being an actual avenger. They were still close, but the two parted ways to focus on their training.
As part of Aaron’s training he often would spend time patrolling the boundaries of heaven and, one day, Abel came up and was frantic. He had met someone and was defecting from the forces and leaving and he had come back to bring Aaron with him. This was a rare case where an angel left heaven and managed to stray away from the teachings thought to be so ingrained in him. Aaron refused to leave with Abel, unwilling to betray his home, though Aaron also swore himself to secrecy over the events, and Abel left. It did not take long for the dissent to spread through the ranks, and Aaron was pulled into questioning over Abel. Upon refusing to give any information on Abel, Aaron’s wings were broken and stirpped, and he was banished to the earthly plane.
Aaron’s not quite sure when he lands and spends the first couple of decades getting his bearings and getting used to the pain of broken wings that will never heal. He remains strong, however, confident that his faith and devotion will allow him back into heaven. Around the 1650s in France the opera scene begins to pick up and Aaron fell in love with music. He managed to wedge himself into the scene and he became an unacknowledged composer of the time. He kept this going for a couple of centuries, picking up smoking and a particular liking for liquor along the way. In the very late 1800s he got hooked on opiates and was lost in that for a while. When the French introduced treating opioid abuse with buprenorphine in 1995, Aaron went through that process to get clean and started getting back into the music scene again.
While he was not particularly successful at the start, he did meet a guy, named Liam, who seemed to always end up in the same place as he and the two started to talk. As the relationship moved along they eventually dated, then even got married after gay marriage was legalized. Liam provided stability for Aaron so that he could get himself more in line and start to figure out who he actually was.
Liam helped fund Aaron’s music making and it was not long until Aaron found success in it. Liam also had connections to people who helped restore Aaron’s wings back to their former glory, giving him the ability to fly again. Liam and Aaron two of them lived together, happily, until Liam eventually passed away due to health reasons. Life has been quite empty since then and Aaron’s been focusing more on the piano as of late.
Personality:
Loyal: This was something that was ingrained within him from the moment he first opened his eyes - loyalty above all else. It is his greatest trait, and his biggest weakness. If someone befriends him, they have a friend for life that will drop everything for them. Even when his supposed brother betrayed him, Aaron refused to give him up. The opposite side of this is that if someone betrays Aaron he is never really able to forgive them, but his loyalty is so strong he will still defend them even in their actions. He takes promises incredibly seriously as well.
Judgemental: Aaron is a lot better about this, but he is prone to making snap judgements about people based on little to nothing and locking them into that assumption for quite a long time. He tends to take sorting methods to heart - so people sorted into classes will be quite defined by their house stereotype to him, or those that are characterized negatively by his blinded by faith ability are pretty boxed into that. Due to this, he has a tendency to focus more on faults than he does strengths, but he is aware of this critical nature of his and sometimes just needs to be called out on it.
Proud: Those that are born of heaven and the divine tend to be prone to hubris and Aaron is no exception. He loves to have his ego stroked and is quite aware of his strengths. He does have shortcomings and he is aware of a good deal of them, but he is not inclined to admit to them nor is he particularly good at hearing about his shortcomings. (He will internalize it and work on it, but he does not particularly take it well up front.)
Honest: This is another base tenant that his life is built around, just like loyalty. While he may give an honest but useless answer, or he may avoid a question entirely, he will never give a dishonest answer knowingly. While loyalty is above honesty, he takes being lied to very, very personally and will heavily judge a person who lies to him - he will (likely) never trust them again if he discovers they lied to him once (even if it was like 20 years ago).
Rebel: Aaron’s formative years were spent with very very strict regimen and rules, then he was suddenly dumped out of that and into a cold and uncaring world. In his (comparatively) short time on Earth he’s learned not to follow rules blindly just because he’s told to and he has come to enjoy pushing boundaries and bucking a bit against the system. He won’t become a delinquent, but he certainly may come to be known as a bit of a troublemaker.
Always Keep In Mind: For the most part Aaron is pretty laid back - he’s been around too long and done too much shit to really police the behavior of others, and he generally will be all in on a plan to break some rules (so long as it won’t harm others). That being said, allow me to stress again: he takes loyalty and honestly very, very seriously and he is very prickly about them.

Questions:
What do you want to study at Diatu Magicademy?
It’s gotta be better than living the rest of my immortal life hanging out alone - it’s not like I’ll ever be able to go back to where I came from, and the man I love is out of my grasp now.
If you knew you could go back to the moment you left, would you leave immediately or continue your studies for a while?
I tend to do better in structured environments, so I would stay here and study. Unless I absolutely hate it, of course. (laughs)
If your enemy was at Diatu Magicademy, how would you react?
I’ve learned the world is not so black and white - I don’t know that I really have enemies anymore. (he scratches behind his ear as he thinks) I guess if you’re going to make me answer the question, I’d just avoid them, since I don’t think fighting is really something I’m allowed to do?
When is it acceptable to resolve a dispute by force?
(Icily, as he crosses his arms:) Sometimes people just won’t be talked to.
What should the supreme goal of any wizard be?
Power tempered with restraint.
Special Considerations
Your Special Something: Rare familiar or item of power - you guys pick!
Rank Your House Choice:
These aren’t really ranked in any order - these are just the ones that pique my interest for Aaron.
Eaither, Valhudor, Ka
Powers:
Flight: He has wings, he can fly. The wings are physical appendages.
Divine Metabolism: Doesn’t need to breathe, eat, drink - he can if he wants to, though. He is immune to non-magical disease and has some resistance to non-magical poison. This is a physical thing - celestials, man.
Blinded by Faith: The effects of this aren’t particularly important because I don’t want to manage it so for all intents and purposes this is just cosmetic, but it does cloud his eyes and makes him appear blind.
Miracles: Able to perform miracles (such as in Good Omens) - he normally keeps these small, but he can do so much more than he often uses this for.
Holy Flame: Set objects alight with a cleansing, holy flame. Does not hurt things that are “good”, as defined by blinded by faith. (He pretty much explicitly couples this with his weapons.)
Languages: Can comprehend and communicate in all Earthly and Divine languages, both written and spoken. He knows some Infernal. (This also allows him to mimic accents with perfect accuracy. Even without this he has a French accent though.)
Remove Curse: Able to remove curses from other people (not himself). Much less effective if the curse is not from a hellish source.
Zone of Truth: 15ft sphere - Nobody can knowingly lie within the sphere. It does not compel them to tell the truth.
Daylight: Can conjure a sphere of light or enchant object to shed bright light. The sphere follows Aaron at a point he sets. He can dispel it or it will be dispelled if it moves 30ft or more away from Aaron.
Crusader’s Mantle: Those nearby to Aaron are given courage and are more inclined to face their fears despite challenges they may encounter.
Cure Wounds: Can heal wounds such as stab wounds, cuts, scrapes, broken bones, etc. Cannot heal extreme wounds such as compound fractures, cannot regenerate missing body parts or organs, etc.
Plane Shift: Can transport self and up to eight willing creatures with linked hands to another plane - location is very generalized unless he knows the sigil sequence of a teleportation circle. Can banish a creature to another plane.
Commune: Can ask deity or deity proxy yes/no questions. Deity will answer honestly, but deities are not omniscient so answer could be “Uncleary” or “I don’t know”. As with Aaron being honest, answers can be generalized and mean nothing, or misleading based on the wording of the question (genie rules). There is a chance that deity doesn’t answer at all.
Shackled: This isn’t so much a power but so long as Aaron has faith, whatever his deity is can yank him through the planes to wherever the deity currently resides.
Items:
Divine Armor: A rose-gold and silver hybrid between this and this armor, fitted specifically to Aaron.
Divine Weapons: A rose gold version of the weapon in this image, a shortsword, longbow with arrows, throwing knives. All of the weapons are rose gold and silver. (I would pick these up one at a time rather than all at once.)
Electronic keyboard: has weighted keys.
Miscellaneous dj equipment including sound boards, laptop, etc.
Anything Else:
Most of his powers are derived from D&D spells and generalized down for a non-tabletop settings. He essentially has access to cleric and paladin spells from D&D 5e but I personally don't want to deal with everything on those lists, so I picked kind of the big ones he tends to stick to.
I also admit that this is the first time I've actually put my sort of OC canon world down in words in a formal way, so feel free to ask me any questions you guys have - things are structured in a similar fashion as D&D with different planes and demi-planes and the ability to travel between them.
